The Team

Jacob Moss

As a keen developer, I very much enjoyed the project of helping others use a mix of technology to create an interactive game. While I was building the Engfoot Java Library, I tried to use well-known and popular coding styles so that if students were curious how it works, they could learn whilst reading the source code.

Dolga Rares

I am a first-year student at computer science passionate about programming. As all scientists, I like practical problems. I am keen on optimization and programming contests. Coming with something new in this field was always my interest and so I try to create original programs and to develop new things that can help others as well. Considering this, and the talent of other team members we decided to create a library for Engduino and Greenfoot. It is something unique and it will certainly help other students and children. Having some experience with C coding I was responsible for the code on Engduino that makes use of the sensors and sends the information as a string. Also, it works with strings received from Greenfoot.

As a Computer Science student, I always look back with enthusiasm at the first contacts I have had with this field. I still remember the first programs I have written and the fascination that came with it. Studying about interesting applications is crucial for luring new people into this amazing part of science. This is what we have tried to accomplish with this project as well, provide an interesting topic, mostly for kids, to learn about how easy it is to code and how interesting it gets. We thought that learning about developing games would be an interesting approach for many children and would be a fun activity for individuals or groups while the most important part remains the technical training this course provides. I have worked on various examples throughout this Gitbook as well as writing and editing other parts of it, but mainly I have built the approach we have used on teaching Greenfoot both as interace and in techincal aspects.

As a first year Computer Science undergraduate, I am passionate about contributing my gained knowledge back to the society. Hence, my team and I have decided to come up with this simple yet interesting course that will certainly pique your interest in the field of technology. I was also mainly in charge of writing and editing most parts of this GitBook! Happy reading!
